A Multidisciplinary Approach

To better understand the underlying mechanisms governing electro-driven processes, we utilize a multidisciplinary approach:

  • Theoretical description. Including rigorous mathematical descriptions of the systems, approximate analytical solutions, and numerical simulations.
  • Electrochemical experiments. We employ electrochemical characterizations and operation of bench-scale setups.
  • Fluorescence microscopy. We use neutrally charged fluorescence tracers to measure the distributions of important properties such as the concentrations of different ions and local pH.
