In Our Faculty
The Faculty of Health Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching and training physicians and healthcare professionals, as well as excellence in medical research in all its aspects. The faculty aims to educate its students to view the patient in the broad context of illness and health—considering their family, cultural, and social background—and to improve medical services and the health of the Negev’s residents.
The faculty's uniqueness lies in its strong community orientation, which is reflected in its student selection process. This process includes a personal interview for candidates who meet the basic admission criteria. The interview aims to identify candidates with unique qualities, worldviews, and past experiences that align with the faculty’s spirit. The curriculum emphasizes the bio-psycho-social approach and encourages student involvement in community health projects, from their initiation and planning to their implementation in the field.
