The Meta-Nano-Channel Field-Effect Transistor: From Chemical to Biomolecular Sensing
:Seminar Summary
This seminar presents the operating principles and sensing capabilities of the Meta-Nano-Channel Field-Effect Transistor (MNC-FET), a CMOS-fabricated platform for electrical detection of chemical and biological targets. The discussion will cover the sensing of diethyl chlorophosphate (DCP), an organophosphate pesticide, and label-free sensing of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) through antigen–antibody interactions. Particular emphasis will be placed on the device architecture and its approach to addressing key challenges in conventional FET-based biosensing, including solution-potential variations and localized gating effects associated with molecular interactions. The CMOS-compatible fabrication process offers potential for scalable, low-cost sensor integration, miniaturization, and multiplexed detection. These capabilities support the development of compact electrical sensing platforms for point-of-care applications
