Recent developments in compact, lightweight, and affordable radar-on-chip systems present new opportunities for integrating radar sensing into UAV platforms while addressing critical constraints such as size, weight, and power consumption. This work introduces a novel radar system design for UAVs, leveraging unique platform features to enhance direction-of-arrival estimation while substantially reducing the number of required receiver channels. By utilizing inherent structural elements, the proposed approach enables a more compact and efficient radar solution, making it easier to package onto UAVs without sacrificing performance. The results demonstrate that this technique can achieve high angular resolution and robust performance, paving the way for smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective UAV radar systems suitable for a range of applications.
