Phototherapy is a treatment with violet light for various skin diseases such as:
Psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, etc. Ultraviolet B light, abbreviated as UVB, is usually used.
The treatment is performed in a phototherapy center and lasts a short time - a few seconds to minutes, depending on the stage of treatment and the patient's skin disease and skin type. Several treatments (sometimes several dozen) are required to receive a benefit. The treatment is not painful and is considered effective in reducing the symptoms of the disease.
It should be noted that, as with any exposure to UV radiation, there is a certain risk of side effects, which should be consulted with a dermatologist before starting treatment.
