A surgical procedure designed to remove various skin lesions, including the molluscum virus
This procedure uses a sharp curette/spoon, which is a surgical instrument with a rounded, sharp tip, and aims to mechanically remove the lesions from the skin.
The procedure does not penetrate the deep layers of the skin, so usually no scars will remain after removal, unlike surgical excision.
The treatment is usually performed after local anesthesia to the skin, but may cause some discomfort/pain during the procedure. Sometimes, if the number of lesions is high, or if the location of the lesions is in a sensitive area such as the face, eyelids, etc., and especially in children - the procedure will be performed under full sedation in the hospital.
The advantage of the method lies in the fact that the removal of the lesions is immediate and does not require treatment at home.
