Liquid nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, or tasteless liquid that is kept at very low temperatures (minus 196 degrees Celsius) in a special container.
Liquid nitrogen causes rapid freezing of living biological tissue, effectively causing a cold burn in the treated area. The treatment is widely used in the field of dermatology to treat various skin lesions such as warts, tumors, etc.
The treatment is called "CRYOTHERAPY" and is performed in the doctor's office. The treatment usually lasts 5-10 seconds, does not require anesthesia and usually does not cause bleeding. Sometimes redness, blisters or burns will develop in the treatment area, which will usually disappear after applying an antiseptic ointment for several days.
Depending on the type of lesion, its location and the age of the patient, several treatments with liquid nitrogen will sometimes be required until the lesion is completely healed and the desired lesion is removed.
