Highlighting processes across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum in extreme environments
02 June 2026

June 2nd,2026, Honoring the late Dr. Dilia Kool

The Evenari Symposium is an annual gathering of plant and agriculture scientists and those who would like to learn more about these subjects.

Plant and agriculture

This year’s event honors the late Dr. Dilia Kool, an FAAB PhD program alumna and a faculty member in the Department of Environmental, Geoinformatics and Urban Planning Sciences here at BGU, who passed away from cancer just before her 40th birthday.

Dilia was an environmental physicist, fascinated by heat and water dynamics in the critical zone. She studied ecohydrological processes through the lenses of soil physics and micrometeorology, measuring and modeling water and energy movement at the land-atmosphere interface. Dilia was a dedicated educator, an excellent scientist, and a dear friend. The symposium will feature local and international scientists who knew her, reflecting on her work.
