Who are we?

Advancing Global Solutions in Desert Research
Researchers at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR) explore desert environments to advance science, nature conservation, and innovative solutions to global challenges in food, water, and energy in resource-scarce environments. The Blaustein Center for Scientific Cooperation (BCSC) serves as the BIDR’s hub for international academic collaboration.

Conferences

We support international conferences focused on desertification, encouraging scholars, experts, and practitioners from around the world to convene and share their knowledge, experiences, and innovative approaches to combat desertification.

We support renowned scientists to teach intensive one–two-week courses at the BIDR as part of the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies.
Collaboration

Travel Grants

We provide grants to postdoctoral researchers, enabling them to present their research at international conferences relevant to desertification, engage with peers, and contribute to global scientific discourse.

Alumni
