The Human Spirit Track for the Faculty of Life Sciences
Nature, Environment, and Humanity
Biological, ecological, and scientific research touches the very core of our existence on Earth. The Human Spirit Pathway offers future scientists an opportunity to pause and examine the philosophical and environmental implications of their work. We will discuss the complex relationship between humanity and nature, the history of scientific discoveries, and the ethics of genetic and environmental research.
Tracl Overview
Program Scope
12 credits in a structured track integrated directly into your undergraduate degree requirements, allowing for an optimal balance between laboratory and scientific research and the broadening of your humanistic horizons.
Foundational Course (2 credits)
"And I Will Put a Spirit Within You" – Creating a bridge between empirical scientific thinking and humanistic tools of research and evaluation, while emphasizing the scientist's responsibility as an active agent in society.
Flexibility
There is an option to substitute some of the core courses (such as History of Science or Moral Philosophy) with courses from a defined list of alternatives (such as Modern Iran or Philosophy of Mathematics).
