The research delves into the anticipated implications of relocating IDF bases to the Negev, focusing on three main aspects: urban development, transportation, and population. The study aims to identify the gaps between the aspirations of the various stakeholders involved in the process and the extent to which the expected development will align with principles of social and environmental sustainability.

The urban system comprises numerous diverse components that consume resources and emit various pollutants, impacting the local, regional/national, and global environments. The level of urban dependence and impact is a function of several urban characteristics, such as the city's location, size, population composition, character, municipal management system, and other shaping factors.

A Statistical Yearbook for the Bedouin Society in the Negev

The Bedouin population is culturally unique with distinct ways of life. Since the establishment of the State of Israel, this population has undergone various social transformations and today faces a range of challenges - social, cultural, economic, and environmental. Approximately 200,000 Bedouins currently live in the Negev, yet available information on various aspects of this society remains limited.
