Combinatorial therapy revolutionized the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Our lab
aims to discover other combinations of therapies that could efficiently kill the
rogue cells of cancer without also damaging healthy cells. Such combinations
would target each cancer’s unique functional alterations and vulnerabilities.
Recent advances offer opportunities to find these combinations, including
“liquid biopsies”, single-cell resolution technologies, and high-throughput
experimental technologies with cost-effective readout. Our goal is to model
the processes driving acquired drug resistance in tumors by analyzing the
transcriptional adaptations and mutational changes in advanced clinicalgrade
tumors and model systems.
