Infectious diseases – viruses
The research in the lab focuses on three main topics: 1. The search for natural
and synthetic substances with antiviral activity against various viruses. Most of
the viruses that are tested are different representatives of the family of herpes
viruses, various retroviruses, and the human T cell leukemia virus (HTLV-1). 2.
Investigation of various molecular aspects associated with HTLV-1 retrovirus,
including its possible involvement in breast cancer in women. 3. The use of
the FTIR spectroscopic method based on infrared radiation for the diagnosis
and identification of various biological objects; for example, a rapid and direct
diagnosis of bacterial susceptibility to direct antibiotics sampled from the
patient.
