Supporting Academic Collaboration

Introducing: Open Call for Proposals Aimed at Supporting Short-Term Senior Academic Faculty Visits to BGU

This initiative is designed to foster collaboration, exchange of ideas, and the establishment of long-lasting academic relationships. The program will provide financial support for faculty members to visit BGU for a duration of five days.

The primary objective of this call is to facilitate academic collaboration between BGU and leading international academic institutions. By hosting visiting scholars, BGU aims to:

  • Enhance research capabilities and outcomes through shared knowledge and expertise.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
  • Strengthen academic networks and partnerships.
  • Provide opportunities for professional development and cultural exchange.

Program Details

Applicants must:

  • Hold a faculty position at an accredited academic institution.
  • Have a clear plan for collaboration with BGU faculty members during their visit.
  • Visit BGU during 2025, preference will be given to faculty that plan to visit before the end of the academic year (September 30, 2025).

The visit is expected to last five days, during which the visiting faculty member will engage in the following activities:

  • Collaborative research projects with BGU faculty.
  • Guest lecture.
  • Meeting with BGU students.
  • Exploration of potential long-term partnerships and projects.

Applications will be submitted by the BGU faculty who will be the host.  The application will include the following:

  • A short CV of the applicant.
  • A statement of purpose outlining the objectives and expected outcomes of the visit.
  • A letter of support from their BGU host.
  • A proposed itinerary for the five-day visit, including planned activities and collaborations.

Applications should be submitted electronically as one PDF file to OIAA@bgu.ac.il by March 31, 2025.

BGU International will provide financial support of up to $3500 to help cover the following expenses for the duration of the visit:

  • Travel expenses (economy class airfare)
  • Accommodation
  • A daily stipend to cover meals and local transportation.
