NEHRI
About NEHRI
Overview
The Negev Environmental Health Research Institute (NEHRI) is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to environmental health, established by scientists from the Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change and the Faculty of Health Sciences (Ben-Gurion University), together with physicians from Soroka University Medical Center.
NEHRI was established in response to the increasing worldwide concern over the impacts of climate change and environmental pollution on human health.
Our Mission
To advance environmental health in the Negev through research and the training of the next generation of scientists. We study the health effects of environmental exposures, including air pollution, climate, green space, water, and noise, and develop new approaches to measure these exposures and their effects on health. Our goal is to generate evidence that supports public health decision-making and helps reduce environmental health risks.
