The center operates as a leading international science center of marine research under the Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change
Marine research, across the world, has undergone a remarkable rise in recent years, which combines in an unprecedented symbiosis environmental aspects of sustainability and nature protection and applied tools developed by basic sciences. Under these causes, BGU has established the new Center for Marine Research, that provides a hub for the 30 researchers, expert in a wide array of marine sciences.
The center operates as a leading international science center of marine research under the Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change. It is dedicated to the preservation and protection and marine environments, worldwide, and of Israel. It serves as a recruitment facilitation tool for both undergraduate and graduate students in marine sciences.
It facilitates research collaboration between its affiliated members in the following themes
Promote scientific collaboration in marine and limnological sciences
Apply for governmental and international major funding sources
Promote collaborations and partnerships with other marine research centers
Promote BGU’s contribution to MERCI
Organize international meetings and special symposiums
Promote educational activity and increase public knowledge and awareness on marine sciences
