Interleukin-1 family of molecules in homeostasis and pathology
The main subjects studied in the lab are: 1. The effects of IL-1 in tumor
development and progression (in vivo work with mice, which are injected with
different tumors, including breast and colon cancers and melanoma).
2. Evaluation of the mechanisms involved in cancer progression in ex vivo
systems. 3. The development of new anti-cancer therapeutic approaches based
on the biology of the IL-1 family of molecules. 4. The effects of IL-1 molecules
on acute and chronic inflammation.
