Cancer immunotherapy and diagnostics
The research in the group is quite diverse and incorporates several subjects,
including the development of antibodies against immune checkpoints
of the innate immune system, and exploration of 3D-ex-vivo diagnostic
methodologies to evaluate the response to targeted and biological cancer
therapies, based on patient-derived xenografts grown in NSG mice. We
use glycosylation-based methodologies to enhance sera lifespan of shortlived
therapeutic proteins; development of antibodies against receptors’
heterodimers whose membrane-expression is abundant in tumor cells;
nanochips and artificial reporters to evaluate sensitivity and efficacy of
cancer immunotherapy.
