Short Term Housing

section-bottom

International students in short-term programs at BGU will live in dorms with other international students and local Israeli students. Living in on-campus housing with other students allows students to immerse in the BGU community fully and is part of a well-rounded study abroad or exchange experience.

Full degree student? check out the housing possibilities for you here.

  • The dorms assigned to international students in short-term programs are located in the Me'onot Dalet dormitory complex, which is across the street from the campus.
  • The dormitories are apartments of four private bedrooms with a bathroom, kitchen, and shared common area. Each bedroom has a bed, desk, closet, chair, and lamp and can be locked for privacy. The apartments have a central air-conditioning system.
  • Please Note: Aside from furniture, the dorms are unequipped. This means that students have to bring their own linens, blankets, kitchenware, cooking equipment, and eating utensils. These can easily be purchased locally at a reasonable price and often the Israeli roommates have already bought many of these items.

Short Term Housing - All you need to know

When you apply to non-degree programs as an international student (by the application deadline), you are eligible for a dorm room upon availability.

Requests submitted after the deadline cannot be guaranteed housing.

· Choose “On-Campus Housing" in your application form, or notify the office via e-mail: dormsint@bgu.ac.il.

· Once accepted to the program, along with an admission letter you will receive an invoice with a non-refundable down-payment to reserve the room.

· This invoice should be paid within 14 days from the invoice date, otherwise, a room will not be guaranteed.

· The remaining amount should be paid at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the program.

Your length of stay at the dorms is pre-defined according to the length of your program of study, e.g. Semester, Year, Internship, etc.
Please note: If your academic program changes your length of stay will change accordingly.

All fees concerning rent and lodging must be settled before arrival and checking into the dorms.

To reserve a room in the dorms, the student needs to pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of 250 USD which is part of the total amount requested to pay for the rent. An invoice for payment will be sent by BGU International.

After the student pays the confirmation fee, a second invoice will be sent with the rest of the amount.

The fees should be paid online, via PayPal or credit card (installments are available for this option). A bank transfer is also possible.

The cost per month (or part of a month) is 495 USD; this includes Wi-Fi connection, security, electricity, and water expenses.

A 5% discount scholarship for accommodation will be granted according to the following terms:

- Reservation for 6 months or more

- Payment should be settled upfront for the whole period

*Students requesting a payment plan or paying month by month will not be awarded a discount.

If the student is interested in prolonging his/her stay, a written request should be sent to BGU International at dormsint@bgu.ac.il at least two weeks before the end of the stay as indicated in the Agreement. The extension will be dependent on availability.

All fees concerning rent and lodging are to be paid before the extension of stay begins.

You will be required to sign a housing contract upon arrival. Once you have signed, the contract is binding for the period of your stay and CANNOT be adjusted or terminated in advance.

Pets are not allowed in the dormitory.

You are required to contact the dorm counselor at least 10 days prior to your arrival to make an appointment to check in to the dorms. Check-in times for the dorms are:

Appointments can be made by emailing the dorms counselor at dormsosp@bgu.ac.il or via WhatsApp at +972-50-2029746
