About

Meir Kalech completed his Ph.D. in the Computer Science Department at Bar-Ilan University in 2006. In 2008, he joined the Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev as a faculty member. His research interests are in artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on anomaly detection and diagnosis. Kalech founded the Anomaly Detection and Diagnosis Lab (AiDnD), which integrates two main AI approaches: model-based and data-driven methods. He is a recognized expert in model-based diagnosis (MBD) and has published dozens of papers in leading journals and refereed conferences. Kalech?s lab collaborates with government agencies and leading corporations, including General Motors, Mekorot, Ceragon, MarisTech, and IBM. His research areas include anomaly detection of SCADA systems and autonomous systems, automated debugging, survival analysis, defect prediction, predictive maintenance and troubleshooting. Kalech was named an AAAI Senior Member in 2022 and currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Artificial Intelligence Journal (AIJ). He has also served as an area chair and senior program committee member at leading AI conferences, including AAAI, IJCAI, AAMAS, and the International Conference on Principles of Diagnosis.
