  • All research involving human participants must receive ethical approval before data collection begins.
  • Submissions should be completed via the online system, following the university’s ethical review requirements.
  • Ensure that all required documents (e.g., study protocol, informed consent forms, recruitment materials) are included in your application.
  • Incomplete applications may result in delays.
  • Initial feedback is typically provided within three weeks of submission.
  • The full approval process generally takes six to eight weeks, depending on the number of applications and the extent of required revisions.
  • Researchers should plan their submission timelines accordingly and allow sufficient time for review.

Unit-Level Committees

Unit-level ethics committees are certified by the institutional committee to operate within specific academic units (departments, faculties, or schools) to create guidelines and procedures tailored to research done within the academic unit. Researchers should determine which unit-level committee is responsible for their research and contact the appropriate committee to determine the guidelines governing research in their units.
