Dr. Ilai Guendelman
Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences
My Life before BGU:
I was born in the United States and grew up in Beer-Sheva. I did my bachelor's degree in Geology at Ben-Gurion University, my master's and doctoral degrees at the Weizmann Institute of Science, and my postdoctoral research at Princeton University.
Why BGU?
I grew up in Beer-Sheva, so coming back feels natural, in other words, close to home.
My research:
I study climate on Earth and on other planets.
An insight from my research:
Breaking down and simplifying complex problems can make them much clearer.
When I grow up…
Throughout childhood, my answers changed as I got older. Today, the answer has evolved into: when I grow up, I’ll be retired!
If I wasn’t a researcher…
I would work with animals.
