The Swiss Institute for Dryland Environmental and Energy Research (SIDEER) hereby announces the SIDEER PhD Scholarship for Environmental Excellence for outstanding new PhD students planning to study at the SIDEER in one of the following fields:
The scholarship includes:
- A tuition waiver.
- A monthly stipend of up to NIS 11,550 (ca. US$3,155).
Scholarship terms and guidelines
- Candidates must obtain the consent of a SIDEER academic faculty member to serve as their advisor, and they must be registered for a PhD program at Ben-Gurion University’s Kreitman School of Advanced Graduate Studies (KSAS).
- Candidates must have an outstanding academic record and rank in the top 20% of their master’s graduating class.
- Candidates must comply with the criteria of and apply for one of the excellence scholarships offered by the KSAS.
Applications should include the following:
- Completed application form signed by the candidate and the prospective advisor.
- Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
- Academic transcripts of previous bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
- A preliminary summary of the proposed research (< 800 words).
- Three letters of recommendation: one from the MSc advisor and two from faculty members who are familiar with the candidate’s academic work and skills. The letters should be sent directly to the SIDEER office.
- Confirmations of registration in the Kreitman School of Advanced Graduate Studies and of a submitted application for a KSAS scholarship.
Applications should be submitted by the prospective SIDEER advisors to the SIDEER office.
