Improving the earthquake response of civil structures
My research interests involve estimating and improving the earthquake response of civil structures. One of my many interests is developing and designing semi-active systems that can modify and adjust to different structural loads – an example of innovation for protecting structures against earthquakes.

The Earthquake Engineering laboratory
The earthquake engineering laboratory I run has a small-scale shaking table (Quanser Shake Table II) used to examine semi-active control systems, test optimal control algorithms, and validate analytical analysis methods.
