BGU's Influence on the Negev Committee
Co- Chaired by Joel Reinstein and Esteban Socolsky together with Prof. Miki Malul, Head of the President's Strategic Plan for the Negev.

This committee will support and help promote the vision that Israel’s long-term resilience depends on unlocking the Negev’s potential, with BGU leading this effort by transforming the region into a thriving hub of innovation, social mobility, and economic growth.
The strategy guiding this vision is built on three core pillars:
- Integrating the Negev’s vision and opportunities across all university departments
- Leading strategic dialogue on the Negev’s challenges by addressing critical regional issues
- Building a Hub for Social Innovation
Together, these pillars position BGU to shape not only the future of the Negev, but the future of Israel as a whole.
The committee convene twice a year via Zoom and once more in person at the annual meeting of the Board of Governors in May, to which additional members who are not official committee members are invited.
