The Diversity & Inclusion committee focuses on the non-academic issues that occupy our students.
The goal is to improve students’ quality of life and inspire excellence by way of non-formal education and the internalization of social awareness and involvement in the Negev community.
It opens a spotlight to the inclusion of students from underprivileged backgrounds like the Arab community in general and the Bedouin community, the Haredi religious sector, Olim from Ethiopia and students with disabilities.
The committee discusses the challenges of each group and ideas to overcome them, while aiming to create a culture of diversity and inclusiveness at the university, and to support all members of the university community in their efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
The committee convene twice a year via Zoom and once more in person at the annual meeting of the Board of Governors in May, to which additional members who are not official committee members are invited.
