About the Lab
The LC-MS lab is equipped with an Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometer (UHPLC-HRMS) instrument and LCQ Fleet Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer (HPLC).
The lab offers a wide variety of weight analyses: organic molecule, peptide, small proteins etc. using liquid chromatography separations or direct injections, With the option of MS/MS analysis using top 10 methodology or SIM.
Q Exactive focus, equipped with an Orbitrap mass analyzer offers different resolutions (17,500-70,000) with high mass accuracy.
The lab serves the chemistry department as well as other departments and faculties in the University. The lab offers consultation and Mass-Spectrometry services to industrial companies.

Users- Important Rules
>> Users are allowed to work independently on the MS instruments only after receiving proper training.
>> In order to schedule training sessions please contact Zehavit.
>> To access the MS room, you have to have a valid card, in order to have it please send Zehavit an email which includes: Full name, identification number and email address.
>> DO NOT TO USE USB DRIVE or ANY INTERNET CONNECTION in any case.
>> Please, DO NOT FORGET to write yourself in the logbook, including start time and end time of use.
To access your LCMS data from anywhere in the campus:
- Go to "This PC"
- Right click à choose “map network drive"
- In the folder section input: \\132.72.8.180\lcms for HRMS or \\132.72.8.180\LCQ for LCQ fleet
- Use your bgu user name (with prefix) and password:
User name: bgu-users\your_bgu_username
Password: your_bgu_password
For example, if your user name is “Israel", the user name field will be:
User name: bgu-users\israel
- Click “Finish"
You will find a new folder named “lcms" or “LCQ", with your data.
This folder is update every 10 minutes, so please be patient.
All saved data is backed up into a main secure server.

To download EXCALIBUR (include FREE STYLE) to your computer:
1. Go to https://thermo.flexnetoperations.com/control/thmo/RegisterMemberToAccount
2. Choose “Demo software" sheet.
3. Fill your details
4. You will get a user name and password up to 24 hours after your registration.
5. Download the free version of Excalibur.
