MA in Israel Studies
The MA Woodman-Scheller Israel Studies International Program (WSISIP) is a first-of-its-kind, globally accredited, English-speaking, two-year multi-track program that provides students with comprehensive knowledge in key subjects and research methodologies related to the field of Israel Studies.
The program integrates historical and contemporary perspectives and focuses on the emergence of Zionist ideology and the global Jewish people, the pre-state communities under Ottoman and British rule, and the State of Israel.

Registration Requirements
The registration conditions are correct at this time and are subject to change.
A BA or BSc degree from an accredited university or college with a grade point average equivalent to 80/100 or above in the fields of humanities or social sciences. Students who have a limited background in a related field, such as Jewish studies, Israel studies, or Middle East studies, will be required to take up to 6 additional credits of complementary courses based on individual assessment.
Non-native English speakers are required to submit a minimum TOEFL score of 90 or equivalent certification. It is at the discretion of the program's administrators to accept or reject such certification, and extenuating circumstances will be taken into account.
We offer full-tuition scholarships, as well as a generous monthly stipend and subsidized rent in our on-campus housing.
Grants are also available through Masa Israel Journey (a joint project of the Israeli Government and the Jewish Agency for Israel), for those who are eligible. To find out more and to apply, please visit Masa Israel.

- A short essay, no longer than one page, explaining why you would like to join the program
- Preliminary Research Statement: One-page declaration of research plans presenting your research interests and themes for your thesis topic .
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members who are familiar with your academic work and skills should be sent by the recommender directly to israelstudies@bgu.ac.il
- A Reference form for graduate students
- An application form will be sent directly via email to the WSISIP students coordinator: israelstudies@bgu.ac.il
- Interview in person or via Skype.
