Admission Requirements

- Applicant must be an Israeli citizen or permanent resident registered with the Population Registry of the Ministry of the Interior.
- Complete the on-line registration form (in Hebrew) and pay the registration fee.
- Applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree and be a Graduate of a recognized academic institution of higher education in Israel or abroad with an average final grade of 80 or higher. (79.5 and above can register)
- Completion of the MCAT or Israeli Knowledge (Yeda) exam. Only MCAT and Knowledge exams scores from the last three years will be accepted. (2024, 2025, 2026).
MCAT score (if relevant). Scores must be submitted by May 17th, 2026 - Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation. Must submit by July 7th, 2026.

- Upload transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions. Must submit by July 7th, 2026.
- Upload syllabus and "core course " form. Must submit by July 7th, 2026.
- Fulfillment of the required core courses as follows:
- For core courses taken as part of a degree- valid for 11 years from the date of conferment for the degree (זכאות לתואר).
- For core courses taken as a single course- valid for 11 years from the date of completion of the course (date of official grade received).
- Applicants must have achieved at least a grade of 75 in each core course.
- Applicants who are in their final year of study but have not completed their degree by the time of registration can submit their final transcript and degree by September 15th, 2026.
Core courses required for those submitting a Knowledge Exam score:
- Biochemistry - 4 credits
- Cell biology - 4 credits
- Molecular biology - 4 credits
- Genetics - 3 credits
- Microbiology - 4 credits
- Physiology - 4 credits
- Statistics - 3 credits
Core courses required for those submitting an MCAT score:
- Biology, 8 credits. It is recommended to take 4 out of the 8 credits in Molecular Biology.
- Chemistry, 8 credits.
- Organic Chemistry, 8 credits.
- One year of Physics or a semester each of physics and mathematics (biostatistics *can be recognized as a mathematics course) - 6 credits
- Biochemistry- recommended to take 4 credits
- Statistics- recommended to take 3 credits
From 2027-28 it will be mandatory to take: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biostatistics as part of the credits needed.
- English exemption level - Graduates of a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher education in Israel or from a recognized institution of higher education abroad where the language of instruction was in English are not required to take the TOEFL exam. Applicants who do not meet the above criteria are required to take the TOEFL exam. For those who are required to take the test - the passing score for the TOEFL is 90 or alternatively the Amir/Amirim exam.
- For students who did not study in Israel Highschool or college (language taught in Hebrew) you will need to pass with a score of 132 the “YAEL” test by the end of the 1st year. Information on the exam: Hebrew Proficiency Tests - National Institute for Testing & Evaluation.

- TEMA Exam
- The top candidates will be invited to the TEMA exam (registration and payment is directly to TEMA (www.tema.co.il)).
- The TEMA exam is a personality test that is done online and can be taken in Hebrew or English.
- Dates of the exam- June 10th and June 11th, 2026.
- Interviews
- The top candidates from the TEMA exam will be invited to an interview.
- The interview will be conducted in person on the BGU campus.
- Applicants may choose to be interviewed in Hebrew or English.
- Each interview will last approximately 30- 45min and will be conducted by two interviewers.
- The interviews will take place between August 4th and August 13th, 2026.
