The three-year program focuses on creating a robust educational foundation in the natural sciences and on familiarizing students with cutting-edge strategies for the sustainable use, development, and conservation of soil, water, and vegetation.

Our department blends a strong focus on English and American literature and culture with a dynamic, interdisciplinary approach. We explore literary texts and contexts through diverse perspectives—historical, formalist, sociological, and psychological—while fostering connections with other fields in the humanities and social sciences.

Research strengths include Postcolonialism, Gender Studies, Queer Theory, Shakespearean and Renaissance drama, Victorian literature, Native American and African American Studies, Judaic Studies, Comparative Literature, and Cognitive Poetics.

Our courses cover major authors, genres, and periods, alongside topics like the history of reading, psychoanalytic criticism, modern Jewish studies, and critical race studies. Students gain tools for literary analysis, cultural understanding, and strong written and oral communication skills.

The BA in English Literature immerses students in British and American literary traditions while sharpening their analytical abilities and English proficiency, preparing them for academic and professional success.
