Increasing the complexity of periodic protein nanostructures by the rolling-circle-amplified synthesis of aptamers

(Figure Presented) The biomachinery of rolling-circle amplification relying on protein-aptamer interactions on DNA scaffolds was used to create one-dimensional DNA-protein/DNA-protein-nanoparticle hierarchical assemblies. These conjugates can serve as further templates for the immobilization of gold nanoparticles.
