A virus spotlighted by an autonomous DNA machine

Yossi Weizmann, Moritz K. Beissenhirtz, Zoya Cheglakov, Roni Nowarski, Moshe Kotler, Itamar Willner

(Chemical Equation Presented) Highly sensitive: Analysis of viral DNA (M13 phage) is possible by using a DNA-based machine that is fueled by dNTPs and synthesizes DNAzyme reporter units. The DNAzymes mimic peroxidase and lead to a colorimetric or chemiluminescent readout of the analyzed DNA.
