Education is crucial for long-term outcomes among young adults with physical disabilities (YAPD), yet its impact on vocational intent is underexplored. This study examined whether school placement (mainstream vs. special education) predicts future work intention and whether educational attainment mediates this relationship. 168 Israeli YAPD aged 22–32 completed questionnaires on school placement, education level, and future work intention. Special education graduates reported lower future work intention than mainstream peers, with educational attainment partially mediating this association. Early educational environments shape vocational development; strengthening inclusive schooling can foster YAPD’s work aspirations and support preferred employment pathways.
