The chapter offers a theoretical framework for exploring expressions of forced migrants’ “artistic voices,” through analysis of 20 self-documenting videos made by forced migrants of African origin in Israel. Engaging with self-documentation as an art form and as platform for the forced migrants to project their inner worlds – their emotions, fears, hopes, challenges, and experiences – the chapter challenges existing notions of home as an external place, or as the concrete destination of the forced migrants’ journey. The alternative view to be presented in the chapter is that of the forced migrants’ home as within themselves: an internal home, a home on the move, a home constantly in the making and made evident through self-documentation.
