This document was written for the Knesset Science and Technology Committee, with a proposal for the agenda submitted by several Knesset Members on the subject of "Nobel Prize winning and the Israeli brain drain". Central issues in the higher education system and its budget are discussed extensively in an updated Knesset Research and Information Center document.

This document will present updated data about Israeli academics leaving Israel for other countries (“brain drain”) and activities to bring them back from abroad and absorb them in Israel (“brain gain”). Actions by relevant bodies on this issue will also be detailed.
