Moshe Harats

Itay Banjo joined our lab in the summer of 2022 for a 4th year final project.
His project was to demonstrate an elastic metamaterial from PDMS. The goal was to be able in the future, beyond his project, to create pseudo-magnetic fields in graphene by manipulating the strain fields of the elastic metamaterial. He was successful in his project and he presented it in the final presentation day of the 4th year projects.
He had just started his Masters degree when he was murdered by Hamas terrorists on the October 7th massacre at the Nova music festival.
His potential as a scientist will never be fulfilled and he will be dearly missed.
