Professor Ibrahim Abdulhalim

Ibrahim Abdulhalim is a professor in Electrooptics and Photonics Engineering at Ben Gurion University.  He worked in academic institutions and companies such as the OCSC in UC at Boulder, the ORC at Southampton University, the Thin Films Center of the University of Western Scotland, in KLA-Tencor in where he was the lead inventor of optical scatterometry for CD and overlay measurements, Nova and GWS Photonics. His current research involves LC devices, tunable metamaterials, nanophotonics for biosensing and optical imaging techniques.  Published over 300 articles, 2 books, 10 chapters and 25 patents.  He is a fellow of IoP and SPIE, a senior member of OPTICA,  an associate editor for the Journals of Sensor, Biosensors, and a topical editor for Applied Optics. He established two companies, Photonicsys specialized in miniature plasmonic sensing devices, and Photoliqsys specialized in developing special LC devices.

Majd Abu Aisheh, Post Doc Researcher

Dr. Majd is a Research Assistant with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry in the fields of Mechanical Engineering and Electro-Optics Engineering. Skilled in opto-mechanical design and mathematical simulations with hands-on experience in liquid crystal device fabrication in clean room environment and building optical systems.

Doron Pasha, Ph.D. Researcher

Doron is a Ph.D. student in the Electro-Optics and Photonics engineering Department where he in the joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. program. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering from Sami-Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE), Israel. 

 

His thesis title: "Fast Spectroscopic Imaging based on Improved Liquid Crystal Devices and Algorithms". 

Niveen Huseen, Ph.D. Researcher

Niveen is a Ph.D. Researcher in the Electro-Optics and Photonics engineering Department where she in the joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. 

Her thesis title: "Nanoporous-Microparticles Doped Liquid Crystals for Energy Saving Smart Windows and Photonics Applications"

Arnab Das, Ph.D. Researcher

Arnab is a Ph.D. Researcher in Electro-optics Engineering. He holds bachelor's in physics specializing in condensed Matter from University of Calcutta, India, and master's in physics specializing in neuromorphic devices from central University of Jharkhand, India.

He currently works on tunable filters and liquid crystal devices. His interest consists of neuromorphic systems, thin film and nano-electronic devices.

Aeden Shleby, Ph.D. Researcher

Aeden is a Ph.D. Researcher in the Energy engineering Department in Ben-Gurion University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Achva Academic College, Israel. 

Her thesis title: "Solar water desalination enhanced by photo thermal conversion with surface electromagnetic waves".

Geetika Srivstava, Ph.D. Researcher

Geetika is a Ph.D. Researcher in Electro-optics and photonics engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Digital Communication, both from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Her research focuses on improved Plasmonic Sensors for Medical, Environmental, and Agriculture Applications.

Tariq Abu Hussein, Ph.D. Researcher

Tariq is a Ph.D. Researcher in Electro-optics and photonics engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree in materials engineering with an electronic specialization and M.Sc. in Electro-optics and photonics engineering, both from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.

His research focuses on development of a single pixel device that can convert any standard visible range camera into infrared camera.

Dan Gahokidze, Ph.D. Researcher

Laith Sadik, M.Sc. Student

Laith is a M.Sc. student in Electro-optics and photonics engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree in software engineering from Braude college of engineering, Israel. 

His research focuses on developing computational spectroscopy methods with fast liquid crystal devices.  

Belal Morad, M.Sc. Student

Bilal is a M.Sc. student in Electro-optics and photonics engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.

His research focuses on Plasmonic-enhanced biosensors for environmental and health
quality monitoring.

Ayat Rayan, M.Sc. Student

Ayat is a M.Sc. student in Electro-optics and photonics engineering. She holds a bachelor's degree in materials engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.

Her research focuses on development of VO₂ Thin Films for Smart Window Applications.
