About
DANIELLA TALMON-HELLER is an associate professor at the department of Middle East Studies and - until recently - the director of the Center for the Study of Conversion and Inter-Religious Encounters (CSoC) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of BGU. During the spring semester of 2026 she will be a Mercator Fellow at Johannes Gutenberg-Universit?t. Her research interests include the history and historiography of the medieval Middle East, Islamic thought and practice, material religion, and comparative religion ? probing differences and similarities between Judaism and Islam, with a special focus on sacred scriptures and material and liturgical objects, and the sanctification of places and times. She is also very interested in the history of the Land of Israel/Palestine, from the 7th to the 21st century, and in relations between Muslims and Jews.The University bears no responsibility for the content displayed on this page or on any other faculty members’ pages.
