30 universities around the world respond to incitement in academic institutions

First coordinated effort among students in Israel and abroad

In cross-border advocacy activities entitled "United Against Terrorism," exhibits and rallies in support of Israel were established at more than 30 of the world's leading universities, including MIT, Stanford, Oxford, Harvard, Yale and more, in coordination and cooperation on Wednesday.

The activity is part of the establishment of a global student war room led by Shaked Benfeshi and Yarden Ben-Simhon, students in Israel and in collaboration with students from Europe and the United States, to lead pro-Israel advocacy activities.

At Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Student Union and the Dean of Students created the largest and most significant representation of the abductees – pictures of the abductees on book covers, under the title "Every Person Has a Story."

The activities include displays of the abducted children, rallies in support of Israeli flags and lighting candles in memory of the murdered and killed, some of them in parallel with pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campuses.

This activity was conducted as part of a precedent-setting step, the first of its kind in the world, which integrates and unites field activities from all over the world on the same day and under the same title.

Israeli students, Shaked Benefeshti and Yarden Ben-Simhon seek to harness the power of students in Israel, Europe and the United States to create a united front on various campuses and lead a struggle against pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas movements around the world.

Shaked Benfeshi, a reservist and student from Israel: "So far we have seen that there are independent advocacy activities by students who decided to pick up the gauntlet, without coordination and synchronization, in contrast to the pro-Palestinian movements that work in full coordination. Subsequently, as an unprecedented step, we led the unification of hundreds of students from dozens of campuses from all over the world to lead unified advocacy activities, on joint days and under the same slogan and branding "United Against Terrorism". Without the global headquarters we established, which facilitates a framework and provides ongoing guidance and assistance, there would not have been dozens of representatives. The coordination between us, which conveys strength and cohesion, is no less significant and effective on the ground. We will continue to lead more vigorously in advocacy and will not allow pro-Palestinian movements and violent pro-Hamas activists to silence and intimidate us. Our voices will be heard, and we will continue to represent Israel proudly both here in Israel and around the world."

Einav Fish, Head of the Public Information Department of the Student Union at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev: "We, the Student Union at Ben-Gurion University, together with the Dean of Students, set up an exhibit at the Student House for the return of the abductees. It is important for us to emphasize the fact that every kidnapped person is a whole world unto themselves and this is how it should be addressed. The exhibit is heartbreaking, and we all hope that the abductees will return home soon and that we won't need this display anymore anytime soon."

Among the campuses taking part:

Princeton University, UPenn, Yale University, Harvard University, NYU, MIT, UC Davis, The University of York, University of Chicago, Cornell University, the University of Oxford, University of Arizona, Berkeley, University of Turin, Florida Atlantic University, University of Michigan, UConn, Dartmouth College, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Francisco, University of Paris, Hampshire College in Amherst MA, Ben-Gurion University, Tel Aviv University, The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
