Mom to Mom: Supporting the Journey of Motherhood

"Because no mother should have to navigate the first year alone."

The Vision

The first year of parenting is a major transition. Mom to Mom is a community-based project, now in its 23rd year, designed to help mothers in the Negev cope with the challenges of the postpartum period. Through weekly home visits and direct support, we provide the emotional strength and practical guidance needed for a healthy transition into motherhood.

How It Works

  • Evidence-Based: Based on a successful model from Boston and the Hebrew University, our program is proven to reduce mental health distress and strengthen the mother-infant bond.

  • Holistic Wellness: We now incorporate in-person workshops that use yoga and stress-release tools to help mothers connect to internal anchors
  • Resilience & Support: In response to recent national challenges, we provide specialized guidance on coping with pregnancy and birth in the shadow of war
  • We pair new mothers with experienced volunteers who provide one-on-one mentorship for up to one year postpartum
  • Cultural Sensitivity: We proudly serve the diverse population of the Negev, with dedicated programs for both the Jewish and Bedouin communities
