The Nitzan Moshe Center for Energy and Sustainability

Funding Opportunities

Overview

The Nitzan Moshe Center of Energy and Sustainability invites final-year undergraduate students to submit research proposals in the broad field of energy, with emphasis on renewable energy and sustainability solutions. Selected applicants will receive an 8,000 NIS scholarship to support a supervised 2-3 month research project carried out during their final year. The Center is seeking proposals that reflect scientific excellence, strong analytical rigor, and clear potential to advance energy-related knowledge and practical applications. Upon completion of the research term, grant recipients are required to present their research findings in a symposium.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program in final year of study at the time of application.
  • Able to commit to completing the proposed research within the scholarship period.
  • Have a faculty supervisor or secure one prior to award finalization.
  • Maintain academic standing and meet institutional ethics requirements.

Proposal Requirements

The research proposal, to be submitted on two pages, should include a project title, followed by applicant details (name, program/department, year of study, and contact information) and supervisor details (name, department, email, and a clear confirmation of support). The proposal should then provide an abstract of 500 words that summarizes the project’s purpose, approach, and expected outcomes. Next, it should outline the background and scientific motivation by briefly situating the project within the current state of knowledge and explaining why the research question is important scientifically. Define objectives that are clear, specific, and measurable, and outline the methodology by detailing the experimental strategy, the planned data sources, the tools and software to be used, and the validation approach, including any expected limitations. A clear timeline for 2 or 3 months of research should be specified.
