Overview
The Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Course is an intensive, hands-on educational program designed for early-career physicians,
fresh medical graduates (pre-residency), hospital-based clinicians, and emergency medicine professionals seeking to acquire practical ultrasound skills for real-time clinical decision-making.
The course combines pre-recorded lectures, bedside hands-on training, and simulation-based learning, emphasizing rapid diagnosis, procedural guidance, and integration of POCUS into daily clinical workflows. Participants receive structured training by experienced instructors from IsraPOCUS and Soroka Medical Center, with close supervision and personalized feedback to ensure competence and confidence in ultrasound-guided assessment.
Objectives
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Perform focused POCUS examinations across core systems: cardiac, lung, abdominal, vascular, and soft-tissue.
- Recognize critical sonographic signs in emergency, critical care and inpatient settings.
- Integrate ultrasound findings into clinical reasoning and management plans.
- Perform ultrasound-guided procedures such as vascular access and fluid assessment.
