The Evenari Symposium is an annual gathering of plant and agriculture scientists and those who would like to learn more about these subjects.
This year’s event honors the late Prof. Amos Richmond, the founding director of the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR). Amos emphasized the importance of developing sustainable methodologies for human habitation in deserts, particularly in the Negev. He established the Microalgal Biotechnology Laboratory, making it one of Israel’s pioneering research groups in algal biotechnology for arid regions. The symposium will feature scientists from academia and industry, including international speakers who knew Amos, and will present keynote lectures on his contributions.
