Ben-Gurion University's Department of Physics maintains an extensive research program in all the major fields of Physics, including Astrophysics, High Energy Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Electro-Optics, and Biophysics. Our graduates can be found throughout all the ranks of universities, research institutes, and industry in Israel.
The Physics Department conducts experimental and theoretical research in many cutting-edge areas of current interest.
Requirements for Application
The registration conditions are correct at this time and are subject to change depending on supply and demand. To secure your place in the program you wish to be admitted to at an early stage, we recommend that you register early.
- B.Sc. degree in Physics at a minimum GPA of 80/100 from an accredited institution.
- A candidate must present a link to the granting university's website in order to determine equivalence to the Israeli degree requirements
- GRE subject examination in Physics
- A TOEFL score of 85/120 or equivalent score in an internationally recognized English proficiency exam
- The candidate must identify a potential advisor (research supervisor) among the faculty's staff

The Faculty of Natural Sciences accepts only very strong candidates. We strongly recommend that serious candidates submit a pre-application with all of the following documents.
- A copy of the applicant's undergraduate diploma
- A copy of the applicant's academic transcripts
- A Copy of the applicant's TOEFL/IETLS score
- A copy of the applicant's GRE subject score
- Two Letters of recommendation from faculty members who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and skills. These should be sent by the recommender directly to rishum@bgu.ac.il
- A copy of the first page of your passport
- A copy of your CV
