About the Program
The M.Sc. program at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a research degree with thesis, designed to impart research skills and professional competence in a variety of fields in geology, earth and environmental science.
The study program is subject to rules and regulations set by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, including awarding of credit points and eligibility for scholarships and teaching assistantships.
The M.Sc. program offers a thesis (research) track and requires two years of full-time study. Outstanding students may join the combined M.Sc.-Ph.D. track during the 2nd year of their M.Sc. studies.
Requirements for Application
The registration conditions are correct at this time and are subject to change depending on supply and demand. To secure your place in the program you wish to be admitted to at an early stage, we recommend that you register early.
- A B.Sc. in Geological and Environmental Science or closely related fields, with a grade point average of at least 80 from an accredited institution.
Acceptance to the program requires the agreement of a specific faculty member to act as a supervisor of the candidate.
A TOEFL score of at least 85/120 or equivalent score in an internationally recognized English proficiency exam is required.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences accepts only very strong candidates. We strongly recommend that serious candidates submit a pre-application with all of the following documents.
- A copy of the applicant's undergraduate diploma
- A copy of the applicant's academic transcripts
- A Copy of the applicant's TOEFL/IETLS score
- A copy of the applicant's GRE subject score
- Two Letters of recommendation from faculty members who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and skills. These should be sent by the recommender directly to rishum@bgu.ac.il
- A copy of the first page of your passport
- A copy of your CV
