Financial Innovation and Empowerment Program - Dimona

From Dimona to the University: The Program That Will Give Negev Youth the Tools to Succeed in a Big Way

How do you build financial independence and self-confidence from high school? At the Prisma Negev Center, we have embarked on a new project in the city of Dimona.

Our goal is simple: to connect youth, students from Ben-Gurion University, and industry experts, and give the future generation all the tools to become entrepreneurs and leaders.

Ahead of the next school year, we are launching a special program for ninth graders in Dimona. The program will focus on two main things: teaching how to be smart with money, and opening professional and personal doors for the future.

Participants will work in teams on real challenges. What exactly do they do?

  • Understand money: Learn how to make sound financial decisions in the real world.
  • Think like entrepreneurs: develop ideas for ventures and find creative solutions to problems.
  • Growing and developing: building self-confidence and the belief that "I can do anything."

One of the exciting things about the program is the connection to Ben-Gurion University. Students from the campus will accompany the students throughout the program.

The highlight of the program will happen right here at the university, at a celebratory event where participants will present the projects they have been working on. We want every student to feel that the university is their second home, and that the path to a degree begins here.

Our goals and partners on the journey

This project is happening thanks to a strong partnership with the Phoenix Group and the Education Department of the Dimona Municipality.

Dimona is just the beginning, and our goal is to expand to other cities in the Negev in the future. We strive to see the results on the ground:

  • More students are choosing to take extended science exams.
  • Make young people feel that academia is part of their future.
  • Teenagers who know how to manage savings and bank accounts responsibly and wisely.
  • A new generation of leaders who take an active part in their community.

We are excited to get started and see the amazing projects that will emerge from Dimona in the coming year!
