Prisma Negev's new excellence track

About the program

How do we pave the way for high school students in the Negev to go to university?
At the Prisma Negev Center, we are developing a program of excellence that will give youth a real academic learning experience – even before they graduate.

This is an innovative program that connects outstanding students to Ben-Gurion University. We train teachers in schools to deliver university-level content. The program is being developed in collaboration with the Husidman Center and the education departments in the municipalities.

How does it actually work?

The program is intended for students in grades 10 to 12 who will undergo an adaptation process. This is what it will look like on the ground:

* Academic studies: Academic courses specifically tailored for high school age.
* Integrated team: Teachers and instructors who will undergo training and close supervision by our academic staff.
* Credit accumulation: Studies that will be recognized in the future as academic credits for everything.
* Regional pilot: The program will begin in youth centers in the Western Negev, and will expand from there.

What do we want to achieve?

The big goal is to build a strong academic reserve that will keep young talents in the Negev. We strive to:

* Make the university accessible and strengthen the youth's sense of belonging to the campus.
* Transfer study units that will be officially approved by the university as credits.
* See at least 80% of the students who are accepted successfully complete the track.
* Create a successful model that will attract additional local authorities to join in nurturing the future generation in the South.
