About

Dr. Natalie Messika is an archaeologist and author, holding a PhD in Archaeology from Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on the historical-urban analysis of the Mediterranean landscape, integrating GIS tools, architectural typomorphology, and cultural memory studies. She is a Research Fellow at the Human?Society?Environment Laboratory at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where she examines processes of formation, transformation, and preservation in historic cities, with a particular emphasis on Be?er Sheva and its surroundings. Her work bridges academic research, heritage documentation, and questions of culture and identity in the built environment. Alongside her scholarly activity, she has published prose works engaging with history and memory
