Cactus Academy

Where students become investors

Your Stepping Stone to a VC Career

Students in Cactus Academy don’t only study investing. They actually invest in ventures, like any partner at a VC fund.

Even better: They do it together with top talent on campus and successful entrepreneurs. This means that Academy graduates leave BGU with much more than a degree: You’ll gain real-world skills, deep knowledge of entrepreneurship, and familiar with innovation industries, along with confidence, connections, and a headstart on your career.

Potential Analysts Want to Know:

Who can apply to the Academy?

We consider all BGU undergraduates from every department and faculty who have at least four semesters remaining until graduation.

Do I need a background in technology?

While comfort with technology is always a plus, it’s not a requirement for acceptance.

Will I get academic credit for this course?

No, we do not offer academic credit. However, we like to think that we offer something just as important, including practical tools for analyzing startups, connections with industry leaders, and a foundation for a future career as a VC investor.

What does the selection process look like?

After filling out an application form, qualified candidates will be given a small homework assignment. Then, we’ll set up a Zoom interview to get to know you and your company.

How much time will I need to commit?

The course is one semester and requires about eight hours a week. Those who want to be analysts for Cactus Capital spend an additional year identifying opportunities and doing research after the course is complete.

Can I apply again if I wasn’t accepted the first time?

Absolutely. Make sure to mention any relevant experience you’ve gained since your first application.
