Current Position:
Assistant Professor, Agricultural and Food Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India

I am an Assistant Professor at the Agricultural and Food Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India. I did my post-doc at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, and am a proud alumnus of IIT Kharagpur itself. I received the prestigious BIRAC-SRISTI Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award in 2016 and the Blaustein Center for Scientific Cooperation (BCSC) Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2020-21. I am currently working in the field of Water and Wastewater Treatment, Smart 3D soil-less agricultural techniques and Aquacultural Engineering. My research focus lies in water conservation, bioenergy, and sustainable agricultural practices, and I am enthusiastic about exploring innovative solutions in these areas.
My postdoctoral tenure at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), Israel, from July 2020 to September 2021, played a pivotal role in shaping my research trajectory and expanding the scope of my expertise. Under the guidance of leading scientists at BGU, I engaged in cutting-edge research on two critical environmental technologies: the isotopic separation of water molecules using thin-film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membranes, and the development of hollow fiber anion exchange membranes for nitrate removal from water sources, coupled with microbial treatment. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of advanced membrane technologies and water isotope fractionation but also broadened my global perspective on sustainable water treatment solutions. The exposure to BGU’s interdisciplinary and innovation-driven research environment significantly enriched my approach to problem-solving, which continues to influence my current work on hybrid bio-electrochemical systems and aquaculture-based environmental systems at IIT Kharagpur. The best thing about the BGU (Sde Boker Campus) is its work-life balance and intercultural atmosphere. It helped me a lot in my personal and professional development.
